About Lisha,
& Tzarina's
About Lisha:

Animals are my life.  Be it caring for them, rescue work, animal rights work,
or photography; everything from my education to pastimes revolves around
animals and nature.  The exceptions are
gardening, herbalism,  sports and
literature.  I grew up figure skating, and enjoyed teaching children how to
better navigate the ice until I was sidelined in an automobile accident some
years ago.

At a very young age I began caring for both my own and animals in my
neighbors' homes.  My first pet was a hamster named Sunny.  After that
was Morris the cat.  I then progressed on to hermit crabs, preying mantis,
fish of all types, turtles, snakes, birds, dogs, newts,
horses etc...

I now have
two dogs and one cat (well it's really Angel's cat).  Tzarina was
an eleven year old Siberian Husky and my businesses are named after her.
She passed away December 24th, 2006, and we all miss her terribly.  But
the business my family and I have established is an ever growing legacy to
this most cherished of companions.

Angel is an almost twelve years old blind and diabetic Australian Cattle
Dog with liver disease.  She is such a trooper that she has managed to
outlive all three of my Siberian Huskies.  Her favorite pastimes include
eating treats, chasing balls and toys (of which she has an endless supply),
destroying the squeaky mechanism in any toy that makes noise, and telling
all other animals just what they should be doing and where they should be
going.

Jackie is a six year old Jack Russell Terrier missing her left foot.  She was
rescued, with other Jack Russells, from a puppy mill. She is always full of
energy and is enjoying the warm weather of the sunny valley while "visiting"
my parents.  Although they now adore her to such an extent that I am
curious about whether or not she will be returned to my household.

Our most recent addition is a seven month old kitten named Brighid.  She
was rescued from
The Coconino Humane Association here in Flagstaff.
Her name is a Celtic word that can translate into either "fiery arrow" or
"Light from the darkness."  St. Brighid is an British Saint of Celtic origins.
Brighid is also an important goddess to the old Celtic religions.  She has fit
into our little family just perfectly from her first day home.  She has loved
Angel and our daycare dogs from the very first meeting, and her only
shyness remaining is towards new people visiting the home.  Brighid is
already extremely adored and the perfect addition to our family.

Growing up an only child, every one of my pets (regardless of Class,
Family, Genus, or Species) have been my best friends and like siblings.  I
strive to treat my clients and their pets as members of my family.  I adore
and enjoy caring for animals, and irregardless of other occupations I may
have considered; I know with no doubts that my calling is  to care for and
love animals, and attempt through photography to portray animals and
nature in new and unique perspectives.  I give my whole heart and effort to
see that animals of all types are safe, sound, happy, and well cared for.

I grew up spending part of my summers at equestrian camps learning both
the handling of and the care of horses and other farm animals.  I also
engaged in riding lessons, sitting hunt seat, and competing in small
jumping and hunt events around Columbus, Ohio.  I also managed the
stable at a couple large farms and camps around the Carroll County area in
Ohio.  I worked with traumatized horses who varied from shyness around
the head to disliking any form of saddle or human contact, usually due to
previous ill treatment.

I was educated at both The Ohio State University and Northern Arizona
University.  I have an extensive education  which includes degrees in both
Psychology and Zoology.  My studies included animal communication in
both elk and prairie dogs, Predator Prey interactions and adaptations, The
communication of Primates with humans, and the various other research
and studies emphasizing both the psychology and behavior of animals.

Photography has been a lifelong passion, especially where it concerns
nature, wildlife, and animals.  I have worked very hard and continue working
and learning to become the best photographer possible.

All my clients can trust me to look after their homes and animals as if they
were my own, and depending upon the needs of the client, occasionally
better than my own.  I structure all services to meet the needs of both my
human clients and the necessities of their companions.
